Cookies & Storage
The mobile app has no cookies, no third-party analytics scripts, and no advertising trackers. It stores a small amount of data on your device to keep you signed in and the app running smoothly.
The marketing website (rulethecrew.com) uses a small number of cookies to keep things working and to understand how visitors use the site. We don't use advertising cookies and we don't allow third parties to track you across the web through our site.
1. The mobile app: no cookies
The iOS and Android builds of The Crew do not use HTTP cookies, third-party analytics scripts, or browser tracking pixels. We do not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar trackers in the app. We do not use device advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android). We do not share data with advertising networks or data brokers. The app's privacy manifest declares NSPrivacyTracking: false.
2. What the app stores on your device
The app uses on-device storage (not cookies) for the purposes below. None of this data is shared with advertisers.
| Storage | What is stored | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Secure store (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences) |
Your Supabase session tokens (access and refresh tokens). | Keeping you signed in across app launches so you don't have to re-enter your password. |
| App-local storage | UI preferences such as your last-selected group and seen-message markers. | Restoring the app state when you reopen it. None of this is sent to our servers. |
| Image cache | Avatars and other images you have already loaded. | Faster rendering and less network usage on subsequent screens. |
You can clear all of this by signing out (which clears your session tokens), or by deleting and reinstalling the app.
3. What we store on our servers
See the Privacy Policy for a full breakdown. In short: account data (email, name, profile photo, user ID), gameplay data (matches, scores, brackets, group memberships, RSVPs), and push notification tokens so we can deliver notifications you opt in to.
4. App analytics and tracking
We do not run product analytics, behavioral tracking, A/B tests, or cross-app advertising tracking on users of The Crew mobile app.
5. The marketing website: cookies
This section covers cookies on rulethecrew.com. The word "cookies" here is shorthand for cookies and similar technologies including local storage and session storage.
